We’re Almost There Wednesday!

Hey Everyone!

Happy Wednesday.

Tiana
    Playbuzz

This week is almost over and we are almost there!!

I know for the three of us, Wednesday is sometimes the toughest day to get through because you are just plain tired. However, now is not the time to quit!

Take a minute to rest and reset your mind, focus on something that will help you make that final push to the weekend. For us, sometimes turning on a motivational movie can help. Princess and the Frog is favorite among the three of us because even when she is bone tired, Tiana keeps working hard to make her dreams come true.

If you happen to be in New Orleans Square this weekend, enjoy a beignet for us!

I hope that each and every one of you had a fantastic rest of the week and remember, We’re Almost There!

Top 10 Disneyland Moments

IMG_0209 (2)

Good Morning! It’s Sydnee here this fine Tuesday and since we have a trip to Disneyland coming up pretty soon I thought I would share my top Disneyland moments, this basically means those moments that make you happy and make your Disney trip 10x more magical.

  1. Getting FastPasses then getting to use them almost right away

This happened quite a few times on our last trip, we ended up walking by the ride when FastPasses were still available and you could use them within 5-10 minutes. I’m not the most patient person so you can imagine my joy of getting on some rides rather quickly.

2.  When the line for a ride is short so you can go on it more than one time in a row

This doesn’t happen often but when it does it is truly amazing. Sometimes late at night we all go on Indiana Jones and we see that the line is short so we can hop the rope or walk back around and get in line again. Not everyone goes, it’s usually just my dad and I but for Indiana Jones being a favorite ride of mine and my dad’s I’d say we get pretty lucky when we get to ride it 2 or 3 times in a row.

3. Getting Starbucks and Riding the Train

I’ll admit that rushing to all the rides is a tiring experience so getting on the train is a relaxing “ride” that lets you rest up for the rest of the day especially if you close down the park like we do. Before we got on the train we get some Starbs so we can rest and literally recharge with some much needed caffeine.

4. That feeling when you’re upside down on California Screamin’

California Screamin’ is my favorite ride. Rollercoasters are definietely my thing and I practically live for that upside down feeling. On Screamin’ it’s different because you’re in the happiest place on Earth, I love all of the views from those high points and being able to go fast. I think I like being up so high because I’m closer to Thor on Asgard.

5. Sitting by the window over by Radiator Springs Racers at Flo’s V8 Cafe

Eating my cars waffles and watching Radiator Springs Racers zoom by is the ultimate morning experience. When you sit over there you also get to watch Mater and Lightning McQueen go by as they make their way around Cars Land. Not only are the views amazing but the waffles and just the overall atmosphere of Flo’s.

6. Raining in Disney

Some people don’t like the rain and that’s fine but I love rainy Disney days. It drives some people away so it is a little bit less crowded and walking on Mains Street or waiting in line for Pirates is my favorite thing to do on rainy or cloudy days in the park.

7.  Waiting in line for Big Thunder Mountain during fireworks

I love watching the fireworks with the wildest ride in the wilderness in the background. Riding the ride while the fireworks are going on is also pretty spectacular but it doesn’t happen often.

8. That first bite of a churro

When the churro is still a little warm and the cinnamon sugar hits your tongue just right and it’s soft a gooey and amazing and it reminds you of all things right in the world. Yeah I love churros if you can’t tell and the whole thing is great but the first bite is especially magical.

9. The smell of Pirates of the Caribbean

I’m not sure if some of you find this gross but I love the smell of  the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I’m pretty sure it’s the water and it’s probably just dirty and muggy but I don’t care. I’ve been on this ride a million times and the smell has become kind of a comforting and familiar smell. Not saying I want the house to smell like it but I miss it sometimes. Sorry if this is weird.

10. Seeing it decorated for Halloween or Christmas for the first time that year

Disneyland is one thing. Disneyland decorated for Halloween or Christmas is a completely different thing. My Disneyland experience is enhanced to the max when it is decorated for either holiday. My love for Halloween and Christmas is so strong but add Disney in that mix oh geez I’m going to explode with holiday cheer and it’s only August. My favorite Halloween addition is the pumpkin on Main Street and all of the pumpkin flavored treats. My favorite Christmas addition is the tree on Main Street. MY FAVORITE HALLOWEEN AND CHRISTMAS ADDITION IS.. DRUM ROLL PLEASE ………………………………..

THE HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the Nightmare before Christmas so seeing it come to life during the Haunted Mansion Holiday is a pretty mind blowing experience. My favorite addition to the ride is the Gingerbread House that changes every year, I can smell it now…..

Thank you so much for reading! Let me know in the comments what your favorite Disney moments are!!!!

Motivation and Mansions!

Hi Guys,

2016-10-09 15.29.45

Sorry for the brief silence, Happy Haunts interrupted our tour, but we are happy to be back this week to our regular posting.

How is Monday again already? It seems like such a long week leading up to Friday and then I blink and suddenly, here we are again.

I will say that I am starting the week pretty motivated. One tip I will say helps a lot is prepping things on Sunday night. I know it seems bothersome, especially when I am winding down for bed. However, that 5-10 minutes of getting things ready for in the morning helps immensely. I think that is a tip that can be applied to both school and work.

2016-10-09 14.15.39

One thing keeping me motivated today is that we have officially booked a trip to Disneyland in September. That means Halloween decorations will be up and Pumpkin Spice Latte’s and Frapp’s will be available. Halloween at Disneyland and California Adventure is one of our favorite times of year and we are extremely excited to be heading there in a less then a month!

2016-10-10 12.34.46

While work is never necessarily fun, the idea that I am counting down the days till I am strolling down Main Street, riding The Haunted Mansion Holiday and seeing what new and exciting changes have been made in California Adventure, makes it a little easier.

What is your favorite place to visit during Halloween?

Travel Tuesday: San Diego Day Trip

IMG_2173

Good Morning everyone! Sydnee here…. Again. We’re kind of slacking on blog post ideas at the moment so I thought I would share what we did on our recent one-day trip to San Diego, California. All of the pictures her were taken by me.

The day started out early… 5 am early but we wanted to get a full day there. Once we got there we basically spent the whole time finding somewhere to eat we had some places in mind but they were too crowded so we had to keep driving, but that wasn’t such a bad thing because we ended up by Scripps beach where Lindsey and I took a quick ankle dip in the water.

IMG_2202

(Blogger moment for me (right side) you can see my camera lense lol)

\From there we just decided to go to an old favorite to eat. Point Break Café on Shelter Island has some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. It is a quirky little café across the street from the ocean that has amazing chocolate chip pancakes. We got lunch there for the first time on this trip and let me tell you that burger is my best friend. It was cooked perfectly and it was the perfect size, the perfect size in burger language is “can barely fit it into my mouth” perfect. The fries were also really good so our whole family recommends this cute little restaurant in the heart of Point Loma.

IMG_2241

After that we went to Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography. It was really crowded but I still enjoy reading and looking at the cute little marine animals. My favorite thing is the view on the outside pictured here is the pier we were by in the first picture so we’re pretty high up.

IMG_2258

\When we left Scripps we headed over to Seaport Village so we could do a little shopping and then have dinner before we left. Cierra and I both bought Tervis cups from the Tervis store (our guilty pleasure). Her cup has little donuts on it so it matches her blog planner and I got a Toronto Maple Leafs one because hockey season is coming up! After the Tervis store Lindsey and I headed to the Hilton San Diego Bayfront so we could get Starbucks, we both got Java Chip Frappes. Almost right after the Frappes we went to our favorite pizza place, Assagio’s Pizza Pasta Plus. They ran out of breadsticks (still salty about it) but the pizza was pretty dang good and the best way to eat pizza is by the ocean.

IMG_2298

After we ate, it was time to head out so we got in the car to head back home to the heat. Did I mention that it was 70 degrees the whole time? Well it was and I loved it. It wasn’t a long trip by any means but it was nice to spend a day by the ocean then have Sunday to get ready for the week ahead. As they say, a Saturday at the beach is better than a Saturday at home! I’m not sure who says that or if that’s even a things but I like it! Thank you for reading I’ll see you back here next Tuesday!

Monday Must Have’s!

Hey Guys!

How is it Monday again already?

I am on getting ready to head out the door to start another long week at work, luckily my boss will be out of town Wednesday-Friday so I can skip the heels and slacks.

Today, I wanted to share with you two of my Monday must have’s, and no one of them is not coffee because that goes without saying!

My first Monday must have is the Goodr sunglasses for running! As I have been scrolling through Instagram lately, I kept seeing these really cute sunglasses that a number of people have been wearing. When I looked into them, I loved the fact that they were only $25.00 and that they had hilarious names to go along with them. I loved mine so much that Sydnee even wound up getting a pair about 2 days after I did.

During our training runs we will be rocking these adorable glasses. Let us know if you would like us to do a separate review :). The color that I chose was Flamingo’s On a Booze Cruise because I love pink! Sydnee went with Gardening with A Kraken.

2017-08-14 08.05.55

My second Monday must have is these adorable flats! The two on the left cost me $3.00 and the two on the right cost me $5.87 each. Since I am all about comfort on most days these heels were an amazing find. I had already purchased a pair of the red previously and since I receive compliments on them, I should probably purchase another pair before fall. One tip that I do have is that if you are going to buy these flats and have ankles that rub easily, pick up some heel guards in the shoe department. I spend less than a $1.00 on these and they have made it so I can happily wear flats without the blisters.

What are your Monday must have’s?

Keep Calm It’s Friday – Friday Favorites: Relaxation Edition!

c9b834c97581eab978e0c6502d47a5ad

Happy Friday everyone! We thought we would continue our theme of keep calm/relation on to Friday favorites! This week we will be sharing with you, our favorite things that help us relax so maybe they can help you too!

  1. Cinnamon Pecan Buns Candle

When buying candles, don’t forget that it’s never too early to burn fall scented candles. We all have one of these candles and we bought them for $2.50 each from Michael’s. They are usually $5.99 but they were $2.50 on sale and if you have the Michael’s rewards or a receipt from your last purchase you get 50% or 40% off of any regular price item! We were skeptical about Ashland candles at first but they smell amazing and for $2.50 you can’t beat it.  We weren’t wild about the other scents but Cinnamon Pecan Buns is actually a really cozy and nice smelling candle. To our surprise these candles last a pretty long time and they are pretty strong when lit.  Not as good as Yankee Candle but definitely more cost-friendly!

2. Fuzzy Socks/ Slippers

Nuff said… just kidding but you can’t go wrong with some cozy fuzzy socks and plushy slippers. Socks and slippers are perfect for just relaxing around the house and they can also be cute! Cierra has a pretty big collection of fuzzy socks so she can’t choose a favorite, Sydnee has some from PINK fuzzy socks and they’re Christmas but as long as her feet are happy, and Lindsey has some Minnie Mouse heel slippers that she slips on when she gets home from work making the transition between her Lauren Conrad heels to these much more comfortable ones.

3. Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans

We all just recently tried these small but scrumptious treats. They’re simple in the way that they are what they are, espresso beans covered in chocolate. They taste like a mixture of coffee and chocolate I mean how can you go wrong?! These sweet little beans are perfect when you have a chocolatey craving but you aren’t necessarily hungry.

4. Pinterest

Pinterest is the ultimate site that has everything… ok maybe not everything but pinning aesthetically pleasing pictures, DIYs, tips, recipes, etc…. Is probably the best way to relax after a long day. Pinterest, though a social media, is probably the least stress inducing one that doesn’t ever make you mad! Give our Pinterest a follow if you haven’t already!

5. Pets

I guess not the most accessible thing for some people but pets are great for easing everyday anxiety. Cats, dogs, lizards, basically any animal will do but giving them a cuddle or having a “conversation” with them after getting home from work or school immediately puts you in a better mood. We have two dogs and three cats so we’re good in the pet department.

Thank you so much for reading! We hope our favorites gave you a bit of a R&R starter kit to take on a relaxing and stress relieving weekend before the next week rolls around! We’ll see you back here on Monday! Have an amazing weekend!

Keep Calm And Have A Cupcake

81017.jpg

Hey Everyone!

It’s Cierra and today I’ve decided that we have earned a cupcake. We made it past Wednesday, now we’re on that weird day standing between you and your weekend and you have done so well. You got out of bed today, if you really overachieved and got dressed you earned extra sprinkles, so go you! And to help with the possible guilt of having a cupcake, I’m sharing with you a recipe for Chocolate Cupcakes, so you have to work for your reward. So without further ado:

Cupcakes:

  • 1 1/2 Cups AP Flour
  • 1 1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa
  • 1 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 2/3 Cup Oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Eggs

Heat oven to 350 Degrees F. Line 2 (12 cup) Muffin tins with cupcake liners. Set aside. In large bowl, blend all ingredients until moistened. Divide batter evenly among cupcake liners. Bake at 350 Degrees F. for 20 to 25 minutes.

Frost as desired and enjoy!!!

Keep Calm and Relax On

IMG-2134

Hi guys! It’s Sydnee! As you may know we’re going with a bit of a theme this week with “keep calm” we were inspired to do this because life has many stresses and since it is my second week of school it is time that I brush up on ways I can de-stress. I figured that I would share some ways to de-stress and relax after work or school with you so we can all chill together!

Light a candle

Lighting a candle is not really a way to relax but it certainly helps you in relaxing especially when it is a cozy smell. The candle I am currently burning is called “Cinnamon Pecan Buns” it is a very fall smell that is super relaxing and is perfect after a hard day of school and/or work.

Read a book

Reading a book is probably one of my favorite ways to relax. Reading not only just a fun thing to do that expands your imagination, it is a great form of stress relief that actually works faster than other stress relief methods such as drinking hot tea and listening to music. A study at the University of Sussex in 2009 stated that reading reduces stress by 68%. Reading also lowers your heart rate and calms muscle tension. Any kind of genre will do but for a great escape, fiction is the way to go. Here are the Goodreads links to the books in the picture:

Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum

Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

Watch a movie or TV show

This is probably the most effortless form of stress relief because you literally choose a film or show and lay down, that honestly sounds amazing right now. Some movies that are great for the endings of long days are “You’ve Got Mail”, “Sleepless in Seattle”, “Beauty and the Beast”, and “13 going on 30”. Some TV shows I like to watch after a long day are “Gilmore Girls”, “Brooklyn 99”, “Parks and Rec”, and “The Great British Baking Show”. None of the ones I listed are particularly stressful, after a hectic day the best shows are ones that end happily.

Exercise

I know exercising does not seem very relaxing but exercising releases endorphins and endorphins make you happy! (Legally Blonde reference what a surprise) Maybe don’t go for a 3 mile sprint but a light jog or a walk is sure to do you some good especially if it is outside, nature is calming too. Other forms of light exercise would be yoga or a low intensity plyometric workout. Yoga is probably the best since it is a proven stress reliever and you’ll feel so much better after stretching out all of the tension filled muscles.

Start a Journal

I don’t have much experience journaling but I have seen many things about it on Pinterest and how good it is for you. There are all kinds of journaling, you can talk about your day like the olden days or you can create a specific journal like one for gratitude or a happy tracker. Maybe even a vent journal so you can put all of your negative thoughts on paper instead of keeping them in your head. I recommend looking up prompts on Pinterest if you’re interested! Also a cute journal is sure to keep you coming back if you plan on doing it consistently!

Eat a Snack

This snack can be healthy or indulgent or both. If you want to stick to a healthier snack go for some fruit with yogurt or maybe a small bowl of cereal. If you’re feeling a little indulgent I’d say go for a small bowl of ice cream, a slice of cake, a donut, or anything you feel like really but don’t go too overboard! Small indulgences are good for you so don’t be afraid to break out a little bit of your sweet tooth if you think it’ll help you relax.

Listen to Music

It’s hard for me to just sit and listen to music unless I’m in the car but listening to some calming music is a great way to de-stress. Some artists I recommend are Vance Joy, The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons, Florence and The Machine, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, and Lana Del Rey.

Take a Shower

Not only is this essential to everyday personal hygiene but showers can be quite relaxing. Warm water and complete alone time should always be cherished. Also a great way to make it more relaxing is to imagine everything that happened that day being rinsed off. It speeds up the de-stressing process and overall just makes you feel better.

Wear Comfy Clothes

When you have a chance to wear sweatpants and over-sized T-shirts please take it. Comfy clothes are the key to relieving stress. I like a good pair of athletic shorts and an old or just soft T-shirt. For PJ’s after a shower; make sure that they are your comfiest PJ’s because you deserve it.

Turn your phone off

Usually I would never suggest this because as a teenager I am glued to my phone but lately it has done me loads of good to just turn it off. I like social media and being online but sometimes it’s kind of overwhelming so when I turn my phone off I feel like there’s a weight off of my shoulders, like I can be invisible for a few hours and do things I enjoy that aren’t online like reading or going for a run outside.

That pretty much concludes my ways of de-stressing after school but there are loads more recommendations on Pinterest and such so check those out too. You can use these methods anytime, after or before school and/or work and lazy days. Remember that relieving stress is vital to you living your best life so use these methods and any other ones you find to give yourself the care you need.

Thank you for reading and remember…

Keep Calm and Relax On!

Keep Calm and Coffee On

Good Morning!

Lindsey here, hoping that all of you are having a great day so far. I am back to work after what felt like a very short weekend. Then again, they always do!

I know that a few weeks ago I talked about Monday motivation and what I did personally to get motivated. Today, I would like to give you a few ideas on how to keep going once that Monday motivation wears off!

We’ve all been there- Sunday night, setting out your work out gear, planning your week down to the specific details, not know what curve-balls the week will throw at you. You crawl into bed intent on getting up early, not hitting the snooze button, going to work refreshed and ready to take on the day. Then you wake up still a little sleepy and conquer the day. You return home and think about the awesome day you had and how you are going to wake up tomorrow and do it again. If you are like me, some weeks it is just a struggle to crawl out of bed and pour a cup of coffee, let alone throw on my running shoes.

I am actively working on this and diligently trying to stick to my guns regarding working out and making the right choices for me.

Here are five tips to keep you going once the Monday motivation has worn off:

  1. Listen to upbeat music. One of the ways I can escape and regroup is through music. The right playlist can make the difference between owning the day or the day owning me because it has a huge effect on my attitude. I have found lately that I enjoy a combination of upbeat oldies and alternative as well as Disney ride soundtracks.
  2. Be realistic. I am guilty of setting lofty goals for myself on Sunday night. That is mostly because on Sunday night I am looking to the possibilities of what the week might hold and dreaming big! However, sometimes it is necessary to check myself and be realistic about what is going to be accomplished and what won’t. By doing this, I am making sure that, come Friday night, I am not regretting all the coulda-woulda-shoulda’s and can celebrate what I did accomplish.
  3. Treat Yo’ Self- That is what Donna would recommend and also what I recommend. Sometimes this treat can come in the form of a manicure and other times it might be a soft serve cone from McDonald’s. The important thing is that at the end of what you proclaim as a great week, it is important to celebrate and indulge yourself a little. You work hard and deserve it!
  4. Rest. I Cannot tell you how many times I have woken up on Monday rip roaring and ready to go, only to find that the next day I am dragging a little. This trend seems to continue through the week until I am so exhausted the idea of doing anything more than putting my pj’s is awful. That is what it is so important that you rest and give your body the time to relax and allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
  5. Elsa said it best, Let It Go! What I mean when I say it is that sometimes, you just need to let it go- the stress, the sadness, the anxiety and look at all of the good things that are happening around you. This is one that I have to frequently remind myself to do. My job is not necessarily life or death but I have a boss that is a tad..high maintenance. Because of this, I sometimes have trouble checking my attitude and negative thoughts from the day at the door. However, I have found that if I can look at a the silver lining from the day and focus on the good things that happened, I can enjoy the rest of my evenings and weekends a little more.

I hope that some of you may find these tips useful as you venture through your week. I would absolutely love to hear about what keeps you going during the week!
