The Nightmare Before Vacation

IMG_20131013_220358

Hello Everyone!

Cierra here, and today I’m going to be sharing with you the top 10 things that people forget when packing for vacation. Between my sisters and our parents we have all forgotten these items in the past. It is never intentional to forget something, you just sometimes have so many things to do and get done before leaving that they simply slip your mind. Anyways, having said that, we have found where all the Targets, Sams Clubs and any other stores we’re familiar with, within about a 10 mile radius of where we’re staying, haha!

  1. Toothbrushes
  2. Toothpaste
  3. Socks
  4. A Change of shoes. (I don’t care if there isn’t rain in the forecast; you take an extra pair of shoes because inevitably your shoes will get wet.)
  5. Pillows (My family and I take our own pillows, we don’t like to think of all the heads and hair, in various stages of cleanliness has touched the hotel pillows, yuck!)
  6. Lysol (Once again we like things clean.)
  7. Power Charging cords. (Luckily 4 of the 5 of us have the same brand of phone, so odds are one of us will have one that someone else can use.)
  8. Sunglasses (Can’t even tell you how many “souvenir” sunglasses have come home with us over the years.)
  9. Chap stick. (Whether it’s hot or not your lips on vacation could be completely dried out.)
  10. Sun block. (Always to forget to put it on, so we get to bring home beautiful red sunburn that turns into a nice peel, especially the scalp, fun times.)

Well those are the top 10 of things that we have forgotten. If you have any you would like to share, please do!

Have a great day!

7 Things Every Disney Fan Needs!

FullSizeRender (4)

Hey everyone, it’s Sydnee! As you guys probably know, we are major Disney fans. We are Disneyland Annual Pass holders, we RunDisney, we buy Disney, we are just Disney people. Disney fans need a lot of things ok well maybe not need but we feel like we do. Below are some things that if you have you are a major Disnerd and if you don’t you need to become a Disnerd.

IMG-2496

  1. Minnie or Mickey Ears

We hope that this is a given since Minnie ears have become more popular than they used to be. Wearing ears that match those of the two famous Mouses that started it all, enhances the in park experience.

IMG-2477

2. Disney Phone Case

Repping Disney on your phone at all times lets people know what kind of person you are. When other Disney fans see it they will want to talk to you and if non-Disney fans see it they will know to stay away. My phone case is a Princess Leia one that says “Join the Rebellion” I got it from Star Wars Launch Bay in Disneyland. The cool thing about customizing it is that you can put your name on it to establish superiority among all of the basics. Just Kidding, but seriously get a Disney phone case from the park or amazon.

IMG-2504.JPG

3. Disney Bracelets

These bracelets can include a cute cuff one that I want so bad or the classic Alex and Ani’s. Bracelets can also include those leather ones that you can get engraved at a few different places in the parks. Our favorites are Alex and Ani’s, I think between the three of us we have about 20-25.

IMG-2500.JPG

4. Disney Bag

Maybe it’s a purse, a suitcase, or reusable bag but it’s still Disney and that means it’s better than any other plain old bag. Other bags might as well be potato sacks in comparison. I don’t have one but the other two have a ton of Disney Dooney and Bourke’s they’re expensive but worth it.

IMG-2506

5. Mickey Waffle Maker

We know that everybody loves the Mickey waffles from the park but having a taste of them at home is good too. Ours don’t taste half as good as the ones at Disney but  it’s mickey shaped which means it tastes better.

6. Disney Shirts

Whether these are from the parks or a small shop orr you make them yourself, Disney shirts are a must for everyday life and park days. My favorite Disney shirt right now is my gray shirt that says “I Live in Fantasyland”, this shirt is from the park and it’s pretty accurate because I love books so I feel like I’m in a fantasy world more than the real one.

IMG-2499.JPG

7. DISNEY MUGS

I’m pretty sure every mug we own is Disney. One of us usually comes home with a Disney mug after each trip, it’s a serious issue but we can’t stop. If you too have too many Disney mugs please join our support club by following us and telling us about your addiction, we can’t help but we can support you by also having the same issue.

Thank you so much for reading! If you have anything to add let us know in the comments!

Frappuccino Friday

FullSizeRender (3)

Good Afternoon! Today officially marks the day that Pumpkin Spice is back at Starbucks! If you’re like us and you love fall, our favorite flavor coming back so early is not an issue. When pumpkin spice is back at Starbs, that usually means other fall flavors are out in various different things.

Halloween Oreos-  Omg so these Oreos are basically the same as regular Oreos as the orange filling is only food coloring but somehow they TASTE SO MUCH BETTER! We can’t really explain what makes them so good, it’s probably just that fall is our favorite season and once these are back we know cooler (or somewhat cooler #AZProblems) weather is in our horizons.

Pumpkin Spice Greek Yogurt- This year will be our first time trying pumpkin spice yogurt. The past few years we couldn’t find any but it looks like Chobani hopped on the Pumpkin Spice train and we’re headed on a journey to Halloweentown wearing our UGG boots and leggings.

S’mores Candy Corns- We know it seems crazy but these are so much better than the classic candy corns. Like pumpkin spice, S’mores seems to be availing as a popular flavor and we’re here for it. Although it is sad that the S’mores Frappe is gone from Starbucks we have our PSL and these delicious candy corns to hold us over.

These are just the things that we bought at Target today so we thought we would share it with you! If you’re as excited about fall as we are talk to us in the comments!

Have a great Labor Day weekend and Happy PSL day!

Soaring Around the World: Travel Bucketlist

Hey guys! It’s Sydnee! Today we thought it would be fun to share our travel bucketlists with you! Fasten your seatbelts and let’s go!

The gorgeous island of New Providence in the Bahamas.  San Francisco Feelings - SF by @thefullfrxme

Lindsey’s top two places that she wants to visit are the Bahamas and San Francisco, California. Both are really cool places. Our family loves all things tropical so the Bahamas would be a perfect vacay. As for San Francisco, they have the original Ghiradelli Chocolate Factory, nuff said.

London, England  Get a famous Voodoo Doughnut in the heart of Portland Oregon. Voodoo Doughnut, Southwest 3rd Avenue, Portland, OR

Cierra’s top two places she would like to visit are London, England and Portland, Oregon. London looks like such a beautiful place and Harry Styles is from England so it makes sense. Portland has a ton of coffee shops and Voodoo Doughnuts so it was obviously made for coffee loving hipsters.

What to Do in Boston: The Perfect 3-Day Itinerary - Small town charm meets big city hustle in this New England capital. Boston is choc-a-block with historic landmarks, killer Italian eateries, topnotch shopping, and quaint cobblestoned streets. Here’s your ultimate weekend guide.  Edinburgh, Scotland

My top two places are Boston, Massachusetts and Edinburgh, Scotland. Boston has everything, they have a big city, the ocean, a preppy sense of style, and my dream university. Edinburgh has castles and tons of book shops so I feel like it was made for me. I would also like to ride a horse, shoot arrows, and let my reddish blonde hair flow in the wind like Merida from Brave.

Thank you so much for reading! Where would you go if you could soar anywhere in the world?

I’m gonna take us out with some High School Musical!

Top 10 Disneyland Moments

IMG_0209 (2)

Good Morning! It’s Sydnee here this fine Tuesday and since we have a trip to Disneyland coming up pretty soon I thought I would share my top Disneyland moments, this basically means those moments that make you happy and make your Disney trip 10x more magical.

  1. Getting FastPasses then getting to use them almost right away

This happened quite a few times on our last trip, we ended up walking by the ride when FastPasses were still available and you could use them within 5-10 minutes. I’m not the most patient person so you can imagine my joy of getting on some rides rather quickly.

2.  When the line for a ride is short so you can go on it more than one time in a row

This doesn’t happen often but when it does it is truly amazing. Sometimes late at night we all go on Indiana Jones and we see that the line is short so we can hop the rope or walk back around and get in line again. Not everyone goes, it’s usually just my dad and I but for Indiana Jones being a favorite ride of mine and my dad’s I’d say we get pretty lucky when we get to ride it 2 or 3 times in a row.

3. Getting Starbucks and Riding the Train

I’ll admit that rushing to all the rides is a tiring experience so getting on the train is a relaxing “ride” that lets you rest up for the rest of the day especially if you close down the park like we do. Before we got on the train we get some Starbs so we can rest and literally recharge with some much needed caffeine.

4. That feeling when you’re upside down on California Screamin’

California Screamin’ is my favorite ride. Rollercoasters are definietely my thing and I practically live for that upside down feeling. On Screamin’ it’s different because you’re in the happiest place on Earth, I love all of the views from those high points and being able to go fast. I think I like being up so high because I’m closer to Thor on Asgard.

5. Sitting by the window over by Radiator Springs Racers at Flo’s V8 Cafe

Eating my cars waffles and watching Radiator Springs Racers zoom by is the ultimate morning experience. When you sit over there you also get to watch Mater and Lightning McQueen go by as they make their way around Cars Land. Not only are the views amazing but the waffles and just the overall atmosphere of Flo’s.

6. Raining in Disney

Some people don’t like the rain and that’s fine but I love rainy Disney days. It drives some people away so it is a little bit less crowded and walking on Mains Street or waiting in line for Pirates is my favorite thing to do on rainy or cloudy days in the park.

7.  Waiting in line for Big Thunder Mountain during fireworks

I love watching the fireworks with the wildest ride in the wilderness in the background. Riding the ride while the fireworks are going on is also pretty spectacular but it doesn’t happen often.

8. That first bite of a churro

When the churro is still a little warm and the cinnamon sugar hits your tongue just right and it’s soft a gooey and amazing and it reminds you of all things right in the world. Yeah I love churros if you can’t tell and the whole thing is great but the first bite is especially magical.

9. The smell of Pirates of the Caribbean

I’m not sure if some of you find this gross but I love the smell of  the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I’m pretty sure it’s the water and it’s probably just dirty and muggy but I don’t care. I’ve been on this ride a million times and the smell has become kind of a comforting and familiar smell. Not saying I want the house to smell like it but I miss it sometimes. Sorry if this is weird.

10. Seeing it decorated for Halloween or Christmas for the first time that year

Disneyland is one thing. Disneyland decorated for Halloween or Christmas is a completely different thing. My Disneyland experience is enhanced to the max when it is decorated for either holiday. My love for Halloween and Christmas is so strong but add Disney in that mix oh geez I’m going to explode with holiday cheer and it’s only August. My favorite Halloween addition is the pumpkin on Main Street and all of the pumpkin flavored treats. My favorite Christmas addition is the tree on Main Street. MY FAVORITE HALLOWEEN AND CHRISTMAS ADDITION IS.. DRUM ROLL PLEASE ………………………………..

THE HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the Nightmare before Christmas so seeing it come to life during the Haunted Mansion Holiday is a pretty mind blowing experience. My favorite addition to the ride is the Gingerbread House that changes every year, I can smell it now…..

Thank you so much for reading! Let me know in the comments what your favorite Disney moments are!!!!

Keep Calm and Coffee On

Good Morning!

Lindsey here, hoping that all of you are having a great day so far. I am back to work after what felt like a very short weekend. Then again, they always do!

I know that a few weeks ago I talked about Monday motivation and what I did personally to get motivated. Today, I would like to give you a few ideas on how to keep going once that Monday motivation wears off!

We’ve all been there- Sunday night, setting out your work out gear, planning your week down to the specific details, not know what curve-balls the week will throw at you. You crawl into bed intent on getting up early, not hitting the snooze button, going to work refreshed and ready to take on the day. Then you wake up still a little sleepy and conquer the day. You return home and think about the awesome day you had and how you are going to wake up tomorrow and do it again. If you are like me, some weeks it is just a struggle to crawl out of bed and pour a cup of coffee, let alone throw on my running shoes.

I am actively working on this and diligently trying to stick to my guns regarding working out and making the right choices for me.

Here are five tips to keep you going once the Monday motivation has worn off:

  1. Listen to upbeat music. One of the ways I can escape and regroup is through music. The right playlist can make the difference between owning the day or the day owning me because it has a huge effect on my attitude. I have found lately that I enjoy a combination of upbeat oldies and alternative as well as Disney ride soundtracks.
  2. Be realistic. I am guilty of setting lofty goals for myself on Sunday night. That is mostly because on Sunday night I am looking to the possibilities of what the week might hold and dreaming big! However, sometimes it is necessary to check myself and be realistic about what is going to be accomplished and what won’t. By doing this, I am making sure that, come Friday night, I am not regretting all the coulda-woulda-shoulda’s and can celebrate what I did accomplish.
  3. Treat Yo’ Self- That is what Donna would recommend and also what I recommend. Sometimes this treat can come in the form of a manicure and other times it might be a soft serve cone from McDonald’s. The important thing is that at the end of what you proclaim as a great week, it is important to celebrate and indulge yourself a little. You work hard and deserve it!
  4. Rest. I Cannot tell you how many times I have woken up on Monday rip roaring and ready to go, only to find that the next day I am dragging a little. This trend seems to continue through the week until I am so exhausted the idea of doing anything more than putting my pj’s is awful. That is what it is so important that you rest and give your body the time to relax and allows you to wake up feeling refreshed.
  5. Elsa said it best, Let It Go! What I mean when I say it is that sometimes, you just need to let it go- the stress, the sadness, the anxiety and look at all of the good things that are happening around you. This is one that I have to frequently remind myself to do. My job is not necessarily life or death but I have a boss that is a tad..high maintenance. Because of this, I sometimes have trouble checking my attitude and negative thoughts from the day at the door. However, I have found that if I can look at a the silver lining from the day and focus on the good things that happened, I can enjoy the rest of my evenings and weekends a little more.

I hope that some of you may find these tips useful as you venture through your week. I would absolutely love to hear about what keeps you going during the week!

Desk Essentials

Hey Everyone, Cierra here. I hope you are all having a fantastic week so far, once we make it through today it will finally be the weekend. Doesn’t it feel like this week has gone on forever?
Anyways, since the theme for this week has been school/ work, I thought I would share with you my desk essentials. The desk in the picture above is mine and it’s where I write posts for this blog as well as my personal (www.mightrunforcupcakes.com), where I do my homework (currently studying for my bachelor’s in business management) and where I run my online bakery business (www.cierrasbakeshoppe.com). So it serves as the headquarters for my many adventures. A few, let’s be honest the list is never ending and changes on a day to day basis, of my essentials are:
– The magnetic whiteboard calender: this keeps track of my crazy schedule, tells me what I have coming up, my work schedule and what orders need to be filled when and vacations when I get the chance to get away.
– The Three Drawer organizer: I have two, the little one atop of the desk and a big one under my desk. These are lifesavers when it comes to keeping all of my important things close by. The bigger one holds my files, my cameras, tablets and my never ending notebook supply.
– The shelf that sits above my desk is my motivation/happy things shelf. It holds some of my favorite pictures, as well as, momentous to remind me why I work so hard.
– The small striped wooden box next to the baker Piglet, holds most of my post-its. Before I had this, I usually had to really search for something little to write on, so with this little holder I can keep it close and organized.
– My sisters and I have a weird addictions to pens. Whenever we go to Target we are always down the pen aisle, we have plenty but never enough it seems. So because of that issue I have 3 holders on my desk just for pens.
– In front of those pens is a coaster. Lindsey picked up these cute beach themed coasters for sydnee and I, while she was vacationing in Newport a few years back. That combined with the Brad Paisley Koozie has made such a difference to keeping the condensation from the daily ice coffees from making a watery mess.
For today, those are the top desk essentials. If you have any suggestions or would like to share your desk essentials, please comment below!

Have a great day!

Friday Favorites- Disney Edition

Happy Friday!!

I don’t know about you guys but for us this week lasted forever!

Today, we are going to share with you some of our Disney favorites.

Our first favorite is Alex and Ani bracelets. With each one of us owning just one or two to begin with, you’d think our collection was complete…However, with new designs being released every few months, our collections might never be complete! Between the three of us, we own 16 bracelets and 1 necklace! Seeing everyone’s photos on Instagram always inspires us to want just one more. How many do you own?

GetImage.ashx.png

Our second favorite is Disney Dooney and Bourke purses and wristlets! While Sydnee is able to resist the temptation of the purses, Cierra and Lindsey have quite the variety of designs.

GetImage.ashx.jpg

Our third favorite is Starbucks and Disney! Our Frappuccinos always seem to taste a little sweeter when we have a view of the castle. Our visits during the holiday seasons are never complete without a pumpkin frapp or latte or a peppermint hot chocolate.

3.png

Our fourth favorite is  our Monsters University Hats. You might see these pop up frequently on social media during our visits to Disneyland. They keep the sun out of our faces and look adorable on! We are also proud to support Monsters University and would happily attend if we could!

20170719_150532.jpg

Our fifth favorite is Disney Waffles. I am not sure what it is about Disney themed foods, they just taste a little better. Our two favorites are- Mickey Waffles and the Cars Waffles. The Mickey Waffles can be found at a variety of locations throughout the Disney Parks. The Cars themed waffles can be found at Flo’s V8 Café in Cars Land. Sydnee wants it noted that the waffles at Flo’s are some of the softest waffles that she has ever enjoyed. The texture is delicious and the syrup adds that little extra sweetness making it an experience that will fuel you up for a long day at the parks.
